Top 100 è un progetto nato nel 2003 dalla collaborazione di 100 curatori e critici d'arte internazionali che Davide Bertocchi ha coinvolto rivolgendo loro una semplice domanda: il titolo della propria canzone preferita, quell'unica e sola canzone che porteremmo con noi sull’isola deserta o nel fatidico viaggio senza ritorno sulla luna. Una richiesta che implica una basilare scelta estetica, un atto critico semplice e netto. Un modo di scegliere coraggioso, personale e deciso che l’artista non riscontra più nel mondo mediatico della critica globalizzata a dei consensi unificati. La compilation è stata editata su Cd MP3, in edizione di 500 dal titolo “Top 100” mentre i dischi in vinile delle 100 canzoni, incollati tra loro, sono diventati le ruote di una improbabile vettura, una scultura ibrida a metà strada tra un Kayak e un veicolo di Formula1. Un mezzo anfibio che galleggia sulle scelte musicali e "critiche" dei partecipanti, posto al di sopra di ogni possibile giudizio. Il progetto nasce con il proposito di farlo girare il più possibile nei luoghi dell’arte contemporanea. Nel suo percorso ha già toccato il Palais de Tokyo a Parigi, il De Appel di Amsterdam, il Palazzo delle Papesse a Siena e altri ancora.
Nel 2005 il progetto si é allargato ad altre 100 personalità del mondo dell'arte con l’edizione della “Top 100” vol.2 . L'ultimo Cd della trilogia “Top 100” vol.3 sarà realizzato e presentato in anteprima, insieme ai precedenti, alla Rotonda a Mare.
